The International Foundation for Toward The Light was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1969. The American Foundation was incorporated in the state of New York under Section 402 of the Non-Profit Corporation Law in 1978.

The foremost task of the Foundation is to promote the book and thereby the Message, which was received in Denmark during the years 1913-16, and which has now become available in English, German, Spanish, Italian and Swedish language editions. Translations into the French and Russian languages are in progress. The American Foundation is closely linked to the International Foundation for Toward The Light, which is domiciled in Denmark and is the owner of Toward the Light Publishing House, ApS.

The money that the Foundation acquires, either through sale of books or through unsolicited donations, is used to support endeavors to inform of the Message and the books.

The Foundation does not have any members. It was formed exclusively for handling the practical matters connected with the propagation of the books of Toward The Light. For more information on this subject we refer to Questions and Answers, First Supplement, Chapter 13, from which it goes, that the intention is not to create a new sect, but to let the Message penetrate and infuse the various religions and denominations to create a true, uniform and lasting foundation for humanity's perception of God and the beyond.
